We already have "Ro-bo-thinkers", the robot cops will be nothing new in the way of oppression. They'll just be yet another tool in the planned destruction of humanity. Is that a bad thing? It is if you love life. But for brain-dead naysayers and those without conscience, maybe .... we're better off without them.
To me what’s far scarier are actual robocops used in other countries today. I did a little research on this for one of my books and places like the Philippines already have them. No doubt other Asian countries will start using them along with other autocracies. No doubt we’ll see these in the US starting with private security and eventually public security.
Deciding things in a black and white fashion have both advantages and disadvantages. More consistent policing will happen, though will lack judgment. No doubt scary times ahead.
"Ironically, the movie is supposedly based on Isaac Asimov’s robot short stories. However, little but the title, and the “three laws of robotics” survived the adaptation."
Asimov had little love for Hollywood when he was alive- he felt SF films disavowed the erudition he valued in his writing in favor of pandering to an unintellectual audience. And after his death, they responded by making pablum out of the great literature he left behind.

It's astonishing that Lije Baley / Daneel Olivaw movies haven't been made. Too psychological, I suppose.
